BASF - Water Education Project Mangalore
The BASF-initiated joint project with UN-HABITAT and the NGO TERI raises awareness about water by allowing children to test water quality in their own schools and communities. 5000 pupils from 25 schools will be taught the correct use of water as well as valuable information on the water cycle and water conservation. The children take their new knowledge home and share it with their family and neighbors. They become multipliers.
Above all, the report conveys the aim of the Water Education Project: It is of paramount importance to raise awareness amongst young people about the importance of having clean water for life and how to deal with the precious resource of water.
