EURICE BLUEPRINT - A project to decipher the human epigenome
If every cell in the human body carries the same genetic information, having the same DNA, how does a single cell know if it should become a liver cell, a nerve cell or a fat cell? That's exactly what the BLUEPRINT consortium wants to explore.
Scientists worldwide have come together to answer this question in the field of "epigenetics". Your goal is to produce new cancer drugs that are individually tailored to the genetic information and the epigenetics of a patient and therefore have no side effects for example.
We met eleven of the leading scientists in Amsterdam and spoke with them about BLUEPRINT. The result is a six-minute film about their work, their challenges and above all their visions.
